CONCRETE HARDSTAND AND ROADWAY REFURBISHMENT

Scope

  • Concrete Hardstand and Roadway Refurbishment

  • Material Removal and Replacement

  • Precision Execution of Control Joint

Overview

A key player in Australia’s timber industry engaged AAA Industrial Services to undertake a concrete hardstand and roadway refurbishment project at their Caboolture facility. The primary purpose of the project was to restore the durability, functionality, and safety of critical hardstand areas that had become degraded over time due to heavy industrial use.

The project was designed to meet the clients’ operational needs by enhancing site functionality and providing a robust, low-maintenance surface suitable for heavy machinery and equipment traffic.

The project encompassed:

  • Removal of approximately 1,200m³ of deteriorated material to ensure a stable and level base.

  • Replacement of the concrete hardstand, ensuring it was engineered to meet high-load capacity requirements.

  • Precision cutting and installation of control joints to prevent future cracking and ensure the longevity of the new hardstand.

Key Challenges

While the project was meticulously planned, several unique challenges were successfully managed:

  • The project was conducted within an active industrial site, requiring AAA to coordinate closely with the client to minimise disruptions to ongoing operations.

  • Safely and efficiently removing 1,200m³ of deteriorated material without impacting adjacent infrastructure or causing delays.

  • Delivering concrete installations with millimeter-precision for control joints to ensure durability and prevent premature failures. Delivering concrete installations with millimeter-precision for control joints to ensure durability and prevent premature failures.

AAA’s experienced project team implemented a structured work methodology, including detailed site planning, phased execution, and continuous quality checks, to overcome these challenges seamlessly.

Outcomes Achieved

The successful delivery of the project resulted in several key outcomes:

  • The removal and replacement process resulted in a durable, high-quality hardstand capable of withstanding heavy industrial use.

  • By improving the infrastructure, site traffic flow and equipment performance were significantly optimised.

  • The works were completed within the agreed schedule, ensuring minimal disruption to the clients’ operations.

  • The newly refurbished hardstand eliminated hazards such as uneven surfaces, cracks, and potholes, enhancing safety for vehicles and personnel.

Value Provided

AAA Industrial Services delivered tangible value to the client by:

  • The new hardstand was designed and executed to provide long-term durability with minimal maintenance requirements, reducing lifecycle costs for the client.

  • Through strategic planning and execution, AAA successfully minimised disruptions, allowing the client to maintain their critical operations.

  • AAA’s expertise and specialised equipment allowed for a streamlined, one-stop approach, eliminating the need for multiple contractors.

  • The improved infrastructure met all safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance and creating a safer working environment for staff and equipment operators.

By delivering this project to an exceptional standard, AAA Industrial Services strengthened their partnership with the client and demonstrated their expertise in concrete infrastructure solutions for industrial environments.
